Together, Florence 1 Schools and The School Foundation are launching a Count 5! Public Awareness Campaign to encourage parents and caregivers to plant daily seeds of sleep, movement, nutrition, routine, and love
Inspired by international early childhood expert and featured speaker at the district’s 2018 Early Childhood Champions Summit, Helle Heckmann, the district is embracing what Heckmann calls the Five Golden Keys.
“As our children grow into life, it’s up to us to create the security they need to embrace the world,” Heckmann says. “It’s essential for children to have five, simple, core needs met in order to create their own tempos.”

The Florence County Library will host a teen Mardi Gras Celebration on February 27, from 6:00-7:00. Teens will learn the history and significance of Mardi Gras and complete crafts. Light refreshments will be provided. The program is open to all 6th through 12th graders

The Florence County Library will host FSD1’s high school robotics team, the Technomancers, to celebrate Teen Tech Week. On Saturday, March 11, drop by the Florence County Library between 2:00pm & 4:00pm as the Technomancers host demonstrations and discuss robotics. Learn about the team and how one can join or help. Open to all 6th through 12th graders and their families.
